Helpful tips when buying a lowboard
How wide should my new lowboard be?
To maintain the visual ratio according to the law of the golden ratio, a lowboard should always be 30% wider than the TV that stands on it. This way, the new lowboard doesn't look so lost and creates a harmonious overall look in the living room.
Can I operate electronic devices in a closed lowboard?
If you have a conventional DVD player, satellite receiver or hi-fi system, these devices usually work with infrared remote controls. The infrared rays do not pass through the wooden doors. You must therefore open the hinged door or install an infrared forwarding set such as the Marmitek IR Control 8 in your TV cabinet.
Is thesurface a film or real lacquer?
All furniture in the Livarea shop is only finished with a high-quality lacquer. An inferior decorative film is not used! Each model is varnished several times by hand, giving it a first-class lustre. A high-gloss lacquer finish is very popular for a TV lowboard in white. In this case, the furniture is also coated with a thick layer of clear lacquer.
Which material is best for my lowboard?
Basically, every lowboard is made of wood. If you are a fan of natural wood such as oak or parawood and want to put a heavy load on the furniture, you should opt for solid wood.
If the piece of furniture is to be lacquered and hang on the wall, a flat sideboard made of chipboard is just right. Chipboard is lighter than solid wood and more environmentally friendly as it contains less wood. It would also be a shame if a beautiful wood grain were to be hidden under a layer of lacquer.
Our tip: If you have a large living room or loft at your disposal, you are ideally equipped with a lowboard in high-gloss white with a width of 300 cm. The high-gloss lacquer finish is always an eye-catcher. White harmonises well with your existing furniture. And with a width of 3 metres, you have storage space from the outset that can be extended.
